The RS485 ethernet converter is an industrial ethernet
to serial interface converter that allows almost any
serial device to be connected to a new or existing
ethernet network. The unit can support RS-485 running
up to 115.2 kbits/s on the serial port and has a 10BASE-T
ethernet connection. The RS485 ethernet converter uses
the standard TCP/IP protocols for network
communications.
The serial data is encapsulated and transported over
ethernet providing transparent serial communication.
It is also possible to communicate one to many (master/
slave) by using a broadcast network address.
The RS485 ethernet converter is a robust industrial
interface designed for harsh environments so it can be
used in projects where a high degree of reliability is
required.
• Flexible configuration. Unit can be configured locally using serial port or remotely over ethernet.
• Point to point or multipoint (Broadcast) communication.
• TCP/IP protocol suite.
• Galvanic isolation and transient protection.
• DIN-rail mounting.
• AC or DC powered.
• RS485 interface.
